Thank You from General Peay

It must be nearly spring because I'm back in my office after my winter break.  It is good to be back and busy again.  You'll be hearing from me often in the next couple of weeks as we prepare for Homeschool Day 2011.

Several of you turned out on February 10th to help us host the VMI Board of Visitors and their guests.  It was a wonderful evening and General Peay, Superintendent of VMI sent the following letter to Scott:

Dear Scott,
Thank you for the great work that you, your staff, and various volunteers did in hosting the VMI alumni reception and Board of Visitors dinner last Thursday evening in the Hall of Valor Civil War Museum.  There was much preparation for an event of that nature, and it was so obvious as the the evening was a tremendous success.

The many details were well received from set-up, to the greeter at the main entrance , to volunteers/staff in period dress, the background musicians, the unfurling of the new banner, and Miss Hunsberger's beautiful rendition of Shenandoah.  Of course, both you and Keith exude your passion for the Battlefield and Museum whenever you speak to groups.

Please pass along my deepest appreciation to all of your staff and volunteers.

Sincerely,
J.H. Binford Peay III  '62
General, U.S. Army (Retired)

Let me add my sincere "Thank you!!!" to each of you who served.  I am constantly amazed and blessed by the level of committment and service you offer to the Park.
